Journey: Fota Wildlife Park
Distance: 2.44M / 3.93KM
Total Distance: 78.37M / 126.13KM
Harry’s penultimate cycle took him to Fota Wildlife Park and what an experience it was. Having the park to ourselves and surrounded by beautiful wildlife, it was a fitting way for us as a family to cycle across as we close out the campaign.
The wet weather didn’t deter Harry as he dealt with the wet and pedalled across the park, along with mam, dad and sister Chloe. To top it off, the animal care team allowed Harry & Chloe to feed the giraffes lettuce & leaves for breakfast before the park opened up to the public. It was an amazing experience and the pictures barely do it justice.
Our sincere thanks to Roisin from the Fota Marketing team, in addition to Darragh for his photography. A massive thanks to Declan (Animal Care Manager), Aidan (Lead Ranger) & Liam (Ranger) from the animal care team for allowing the kids feed the giraffes today, it was such a privilege and a fitting way to end today’s trip!
Tomorrow is Harry’s final cycle from the Dock into Kinsale. Under an escort from the Gardai and Fire Service, in addition to being accompanied by members from Kinsale Tri Club, Harry & family will depart the Dock at 11:00am and head for Kinsale. Harry will be met by children across Kinsale, aswell as pals from Sonas & the Rainbow Club, who will join Harry on their bikes for the last leg of this epic adventure. Harry will finish at the Blue Haven Hotel approx. 11:30am. We hope to see the town out to support Harry on his final leg, however request you to kindly abide by COVID guidelines.
Thank you so much to each and everyone of you for you kind support and generosity. The campaign has been the most humbling experience of our lives and we are so thankful to everybody for your kindness and support.
See you all tomorrow.
