Journey: Castlepark -> Sandycove
Distance: 2.66M / 4.28KM
Total Distance: 59.58M / 95.88KM
The sun was out this morning as Harry set off from the O’ Regan household in Castlepark for today’s cycle to Sandycove - both locations have been central to Harry’s childhood, so it was a lovely route for today’s trip. A big gathering at the O’ Regan house ensured Harry got a lovely send-off and in better spirits today, he cycled from Castlepark to Sandycove. Chloe took her first fall en-route, so took a little break in the car before joining up with Harry for the final kilometre. The kids relaxed at Sandycove for a short while before Harry set off for Strides in Ballincollig for his weekly Occupational Therapy. Our thanks to the extended O’ Regan family for their support today and in particular to Noelle and Katie for joining Harry on today’s route.
Tomorrow will see Harry will stay closer to home as he cycles around the nearby Fortview and Summercove areas. Fortview is located below Harry’s home in Ringcurran and it has provided a great outlet for him to learn to cycle during COVID. Both Harry & Chloe always enjoys a trip to the estate and a visit to Rosita (Hellstern) - am sure there will no doubt be a ring on Rosita’s doorbell at some point tomorrow and a small trip to town for an ice-cream after!
Harry is nearing his 100KM target and with 11 cycles left, he will no doubt smash this over the coming days. His last cycle will be Saturday August 8th from the Dock beach to Kinsale – we hope the town will come out to support Harry for his final trip. Further details on this will be shared over the coming days.
